When One Journey Ends, Another Begins​ - This Is How My Animal Characters Were Born​

I’m Eveliina Kauppinen, artist from Finland. I am an artist with two art stories and styles, and this is a journey into these animal characters.

 

My work as a massage therapist was much more than just a profession. It was a way to express myself through flowing movements, bodily awareness, and the touch of my hands. For me, massage was a creative field where I could leave my own mark.

 

Over time, however, I began to develop allergic reactions to the materials and products I used. It was a heavy realization, because deep down I knew I had to let go of a job I loved. Eventually, the day came when I had to make that decision.

 

That same day at home, I picked up a pen and something special happened. I felt the same flow and movement that had once guided my hands in massage now move through the paper. The pen began to wander on its own, shapes emerged fluidly, and slowly, my characters came to life.

 

This is how a new creative path began: animal figures that carry the continuity of movement, sensitivity, and a story of letting go—only to discover something unexpected and new
